Toll-free Service. AKSYS
now provides toll-free dial-up telephone service only to revenue
departments. Transmitters must use dial-up systems that are not toll-free,
or obtain their acknowledgements from Internet site http://gacaksys.com. B. Security. Federal
laws prohibit the use of a telecommunications device to annoy, abuse,
threaten, or harass. The laws also apply to individuals who knowingly
allow a telecommunications facility under their control to be used for
such unlawful purposes. The laws provide for a fine and imprisonment for
violations. AKSYS
will continue to push hard for even stronger laws prohibiting the willful
interference with the operation of online systems or computer systems, and
we will consider civil action against companies and individuals that,
through their own negligence or willful misconduct, cause damage to our
systems. We will continue to push hard for stronger punishments for
companies and individuals that engage in such behavior intentionally. Reports
that we get from AKSYS, caller ID equipment and software, and reports
from our long distance carrier tell us the identity of everyone who
calls AKSYS, the date and time called, and the location from which each
call was made. We have become
very proficient at identifying every caller. AKSYS will report all violations of federal laws and all attempts to breach security or interfere with the operation of our systems. If an investigation shows that such an incident was intentional, AKSYS could take legal action against the perpetrator to recover actual and punitive damages. If a perpetrator is a transmitter who is a customer of AKSYS, he will be denied service in the future. AKSYS is not authorized to make exceptions to this policy. |
